WEEKLY RECAP 9/28-10/3

HALO HALO BOY: A_RON

This weekend was a rather interesting one. For us, it started on a Tuesday at our radio show, as always! Tuesday Sept 29th, was extra special though, it was the release of our boy Troof Be Told's highly anticipated mixtape entitled "Before The Music Ends Vol. 1" which is hosted and mixed by your's truely!

We're very proud of our boy Troof, and this mixtape will get to show the world once again how talented he is. Also on the show we had our good friend, adult star, Kyanna Lee, to come and promote for Adult Con which was taking place in the coming weekend. The Halo Halo Boyz, Rawkitt and myself were supposed to dj at the convention as well, in Kyanna's booth, but due to some missed deadlines on her manager's part, there wasn't going to be a power outlet available for us to use. We were pretty bummed out but what could we do. Wednesday I cruised over to the House of Blues in Anahiem to check out the 106 & Park tour, featuring Mario, Day 26, and Trey Songz. A lot of females in attendance, as expected, so I wasn't mad at all. The show was dope, haven't been to a concert in a long ass time. Shouts to the homies Dj 4real, Melissa, Jessie, and Aimee who were also in attendance.
DAY 26 ON STAGE @ HOUSE OF BLUES, ANAHEIM

Thursday came and Rawkitt and I headed out for some drinks at Lucky Strike in Downtown LA. Dj Element and Butch kept the place bobbin their heads to some classic hip-hop/r&b cuts up to todays freshness.

Friday, we got word that Ryan Leslie was performing at Cal State San Bernardino's Block Party. Being the huge R.Les fan that I am, I had to be there! This show was thee best, and I mean, THEE BEST, show I have ever been to in my entire life. I've seen Kanye live and he brought Jaime Foxx, Common, Aretha Franklin. I've even seen Usher in a sold out arena, but this outdoor, campus show that Ryan Leslie did was amazing, and so was his 4 piece band! You could see and feel how passionate Ryan Leslie is about his music up there on stage, performing hits off his album. I can't wait til his 2nd cd drops! I got some dope footage on A_RON TV, so look out for that!

We ended off the night @ Cantina Lounge in Fullerton where Dj Carisma & Dj Jon B were behind the turntables rockin it. Saturday finally came and it was an interesting, yet, busy day of dj'n for me. I was @ Metropark at Victora Gardens Mall in Rancho Cucamonga from 3p-7p. I came in @ 1:30 to set up, because I usually start @ 2-6, to find out it got pushed back to 3-7 instead, and right before I actually started @ 3, I was told that the left turntable was out of service due to a malfuction with the rca cables! So, I rocked it with 1 turntable, but still, it felt wierd and I felt like I wasn't playing as smoothly as I would have been had the turntable worked. After Metropark, I had just enough time to grab a bite to eat and relax for a bit before I had to head to dj @ Red in Newport Beach. When we got there, the place was already super packed! Dj Hyper was already on the decks warming up the spot before I got on and closed the night at 12:30. Unfortunately I was informed last minute that they didn't have the turntables that I'm used to rockin on, but only had Pioneer Cdj Cd players. Once again I felt a little constricted, but still was gonna do the damn thang! 15 mins into my set, a little scuffle came up on the dancefloor and ended up turning into a big one. It got pretty interesting and I was ordered to cut the music off until the situation got swept out. After 5 mins, I was able to continue my set and blew the roof off the building! It was a dope experience and the crowd's energy was dope! I can't wait to play there again! Shout to all the UptopPro fam for having me out!

So here I am on Sunday night/Monday morning, finally updating this blog that I have been neglecting for awhile. It has been a crazy week and nontheless, I am very Blessed and thankful to be doing what I do. Here I am, approaching another birthday and looking back and reflecting on such a crazy and eventful year. Who knows what the future will hold, but all in all, the grind never stops and the show must go on!
